Stack based allocation in Java 6
While Java 5 gives boost to performance in some extent, we may forsee to see more with compiler optimization in the upcoming Mustang Java 6. One of the remarkable change is the long-awaiting feature: Escape analysis which makes memory management in Java more intelligent. It's not new concept. In fact, it has been presented in some non-Sun high performance Java implementation such as Excelsior. See Compiler-cooperative memory management.
To have more details, search Java stack base allocation in Google. You eventually end up finding all objects are heap based and no stack based. In Mustang 6, this would be changed. To know why it's important, compare and contrast heap base and stack based object allocation and with Java's garbage collection algorithm.
Well. to test it in Mustang Java 6. Try:
Download debug binary and compile with
# java -server -XX:+PrintOptoAssembly -XX:+PrintIdeal -XX:+DoEscapeAnalysis -XX:+PrintEscapeAnalysis
Java theory and practice: Urban performance legends, revisited

Horoscope Capricorn
Capricorn - Driving yourself to the brink of exhaustion is a really bad idea. Listen to your body when it tells you that it requires rest, and don't push forward just because you can. Take care of yourself now rather than later.

Ajax implemented using JSP Tags and JavaScript
OK..the wait is worth.
A framework to make development with AJAX type application easier.
The type of operations supported:
Autocomplete...Select/Dropdown...Update Field
What is AJAX?
Goto google gmail and google earth. They are built using technology similar to AJAX. Bascially, background processing and asyn query to server to do sth, either receiving response or to just invoke some actions in server. The result is user could continue to work. This is not new technology in fact. Quite a few of us already doing web app using this approach, BUT, now, give it a name.

Sony PS3 in Apple Mac OS X ! could be...
put your eye at the end of the sentence in the passage..
"...The integrated Cell processor will be able to support a variety of operating systems (such as Linux or Apple's Tiger)."
Woo...if PS3 is going to support Mac OS X, my next computer would mostly likely be PS3 (Cell processor) + Mac OS X, which could probably in 2006/07.
Looking forward...really.

A new word to learn and must learn - "SASH"
If you are in Java geek, probably u already heard it lately.
It denotes the components: Apache Struts, Apache Axis , the Spring Framework and Hibernate.
Ha, I did spend some time with each of them in my current and previous jobs.... Nice tools and components.
Any more other combinations keywords?!...

Break time - Inversion of Control Containers and the Dependency Injection pattern
It's time to have a break on the busy work and breath some fresh air, and read some new things though not really so new but at least gaining popularity in java community - Lightweight container and Dependency Injection.

Well...I don't mind reading more "text" than images..
NExt, currently, my job project using Hibernate 2, just saw Hibernate 3 is getting more mature and support many new features which are desperately what I look for while working with Hibernate 2. Wish one day, I could upgrade it to Hibernate 3 and start using all the cool new features....one of them is Hibernate 3 Formula.

Almost a year
hello, it's been a year since the day I make this blog and I am pleased I still keeping this on and on though getting in active in updating. It's really wonderful to find out what I did in the past year through the archive, the many good website I visited, a number of photos and the tools I discovered for blog and especially blogger.com, which are doing very well.
Last year, I was "given" a chance to visit AU, and a chance to meet new and very smart people, and was involved in a "game". I was always so lucky every time I did a switch in my career. I must agree game is still go on. AND as it's a game only, I always remind myself I am a game player and I control the game though game control options is limited but I could press the Quit button at any time and any "stages". It's not the right time now...but if there's really good new game released, I may try......
I want game with more AI, more humanity and more inituitative in response.
how are u, I am fine, exploring, it's never ending.
