Make everyday different

Is it too much difference...? doing sth new, studying sth new, read sth
new, see sth new, catch more new errors/exceptions in program, meet new
ppl, and i am changing gradually also.....never ending, so learn to stop
and rest, think what should be keep going and what should be stopped.
and what is the right time. Hang on..it's .time to stop thinking too much. ~

What Blogs for? It's the content that matter...not the technology

From Wall Street Journal ...Blogs help you cope with data overload - If you manage them....

Apple adding newsreader function to Safari Web Browser.
You know there's more fun to do with Mac OS X, watch for konfabulator - kind of widgets on the desktop. Apple take this seriously and invent another variant - Dashboard which will be generally available in next version Max OS X - Tiger.

Ok, that would be next wave. I am sure Windows have sth similar and probably make official product build into Longhorn. The question is would it be as successful as in Max OS X.

Google Gmail Invitation

I have 5 Google Gmail invitation quota. Drop me a email if you want

DOOM 3

Ha, have chance playing with DOOM 3 today. It 's really cool but even my
powerful office computer could not have it run in high fps. No matter
what, it's a game worth buying. May be it's time to upgrade my
computer, getting a better GPU. Cheers.....

Add value to Creative SBLive

If you look for better sound/music quality (but not 3D), you will definitely be amazed by this 3rd party sblive driver. It just give a new life to sblive.

Hints: Pls read the doc for what changes it does to enhance the overall quality. You have do some tweaking and/or even change the audio filter for best quality.

sTRategY and operatiONal Effectiveness

....There's a fundamental distinction between strategy and operational effectiveness. Strategy is about making choices, trade-offs; it's about deliberately choosing to be different. Operational effectiveness is about things that you really shouldn't have to make choices on; it's about what's good for everybody and about what every business should be doing....

Michael Porter's Big Ideas

What's your stragtegy?
Being Different

Do you believe...

He said: There's nothing we can't foresee...... if every pience of
information in all dimensions ....at the moment are accessable (given we
know how to "decode" the data).

Hold on. We still need the rules to make the data become useful. But,
who make the rules ?!
It exists before everything exist.

i-Robot

The film i-Robot introduces Laws of Robotics. If you have watched the film and would like to know more who make the Law. Here it is: Three Laws of Robotics
Isaac Asimov - the science fiction author wrote it.......a long time ago. I am so lucky to have read most of his famous books in Secondary School. Once you started reading his books, you can't stop until you finish them. Cool.

National Gallery of Victoria - The Impressionists

I visited this while I was in Melbourne. Wonderful experience. I won't forget the day I spend in NGV with the Impressionalists paintings.

No TIME ->> only speed that matter

George R.R Martin - a scientific fiction author suggest time machine is
actually slower than speed of light in one of his fiction book. I get
his idea finally after watching the String Theory but....I may be wrong.
Anyway, it's interesting to think. Cool. :-)
Somone suggests there's no TIME at all, only the speed and velocity that
matter. Relativity. Umm....anway, it's tea time now.

The next era of computing

The 8 elements of autonomic computing will have you realize what the future system should equip with. In one sentence -  "it needs to know itself".  What do you think? When we really have this system running, could "it" still be called "it" ?! Are we moving forward to create system with self-awareness - a new creature? yeah...we are closer and closer to it.....

I feel so impressive with the dawn, the moment the sun feel tired to shine, the moment I see sth in distant but not so sure what it is as it's still too far away that I can't capture....and unknown future . Anyway. Keep going.

Offshore jobs

Globalisation....internationalisation.....how would jobs ecosystem be affected globally, offshore jobs is not affecting only the job, it has more to do with national competivity.....impressed with this

....exporting software application work raises a legitimate issue about technology leadership. "If you don't have the entry-level programmers, how do you get people to become system architects--the high-level skills that we think are going to stay on shore?" he asked.
